Volleyball clubs are the best option for girls who wish to up the intensity of their involvement in the sport. Clubs practice more than once per week, hire qualified instructors, and play in tournaments. Tryouts are in August and seasons run November or December through May.

Clubs are also expensive, with many clubs charging $4,000 or more for a season plus more for travel costs. They also require girls to prioritize volleyball over other sports and often conflict with CYO. There are tradeoffs.

North Shore Volleyball Club

In the fall of 2025 we created the North Shore Volleyball Club, a brand new club registered with USA Volleyball. We have started with only one team of seventh graders in the 2025 – 2026 season, allowing this group of eleven girls to enter tournaments. The benefits of forming our own club are to allow the girls to stay together as a team, coordinate practices with the middle school season (during 7th & 8th grades), coordinate tournaments with CYO schedules, and play closer to home at a lower cost than with other clubs. Our goal is to expand to additional teams and age groups for the 2026 – 2027 season, with the current plan being to add a new seventh grade team (current year sixth graders), a second eighth grade team (current year seventh graders), and possibly a ninth grade team (current year eighth graders).
