For many years, volleyball in our North Shore area of Long Island started in the spring of fifth grade with CYO league play. We now offer instructional programs for girls in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades to get them started on the basics of volleyball.
Spring Instructional: 3rd & 4th Graders
For girls in the 3rd and 4th grades who are not yet old enough for the CYO Spring League, we have spring instructional programs. These are one hour per week during the work week and in 2026 ran from February 19 through May 21 with the times of 4:00 PM on Thursdays for 3rd graders and 5:00 on Thursdays for 4th graders. The cost is $210 for the 14-week session. Space is limited to 20 girls per session. We will announce 2027 information as we get closer – sign up for our email list to stay updated.
Fall Instructional: 4th & 5th Graders
In the fall we offer instructional programs for girls in the 4th and 5th grades. The fifth grade session is designed to prepare girls for the upcoming spring CYO recreational league. Some advanced fourth graders might also choose to “play up” in the spring. Both sessions are limited to 20 girls. Registration opens in August.
